Kids' Fishing Derby
The Douglas County Kids' Fishing Derby is a FREE, volunteer-run event that's been dedicated to getting kids hooked on fishing and spending time outdoors with their families for over 32 years.
We welcome ALL children between the ages of 3 to 12 years old to catch up to 2 rainbow trout during our 2 day long, 7 session event - traditionally held the first full weekend in June at Lampe Park in Gardnerville, Nevada.
*A reserved 4th session will be held on Saturday, June 7th for anglers of all ages with Special Needs, beginning at 2:30PM.*
Children are provided everything they need to have a fun and rewarding fishing experience - and each child walks away with a special gate prize. Additional prizes are also awarded for any tagged fish caught, as well as for the largest fish caught per session. A grand prize will be awarded to the overall Big Fish Winner of the Derby.
Although it is FREE to fish the Derby, Pre-Registration is required to reserve your special session ticket.
Registration will begin in April and continue until the week of the Derby.
*Space is limited along the banks of Willow Creek - be sure to register early in order to secure your spot in the Derby.*
