of the 2025 Kids' Fishing Derby
The Douglas County Kids' Fishing Derby is a FREE, volunteer-run event
open to all children ages 3-12 years old.
Traditionally held the first full weekend in June, the Kids' Fishing Derby has welcomed thousands of child anglers, and their families, to Lampe Park for over 33 years -
absolutely free of charge,
and all with the goal of getting kids " hooked on fishing ", and spending time outdoors.
It is because of community sponsors, as well as time and efforts of volunteers, that children are provided everything they need to have a fun and rewarding fishing experience, and the reason the event continues to be an annual success.
A special gate-prize is even given to each child that participates in the Derby,
while additional prizes are also awarded for any "tagged" fish caught,
as well as for the largest fish caught per session.
A grand prize is awarded to the overall Big Fish Winner of the Derby.
Although it is FREE to fish the Derby , *Pre-Registration* is required to receive your session ticket. Registration will begin in April, and continue until the week of the Derby.
A reserved 4th session will be held on Saturday, June 6th, for anglers of all ages with Special Needs, beginning at 2:30PM.*
*Space is limited along the banks of Willow Creek - be sure to register early in order to secure your session ticket*

As a non-profit organization, the Kids' Fishing Derby relies upon the time and efforts of nearly 300 volunteers needed annually to make the event a success.
